Najla Abdur-Rahman, M.D.
Dr. Najla Abdur-Rahman serves as medical director of the practice. Her patients know her fondly as "Dr. Najla or Dr. A". Prior to Willoughby Beach Pediatrics Dr. Najla worked for Mercy-Maryland Family Care as a primary care pediatrician. Before Mercy she worked as a pediatric hospitalist at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center.
Dr. Najla serves as a clinical preceptor for Johns Hopkins Hospital and University of Maryland pediatric residents programs. She is also an Associate Professor at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing where she trains nurses in primary care pediatrics.
Dr. Najla is a fellow with the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Maryland State Medical Society. She has an interest in patient and parent education especially breast feeding education and community outreach.
Dr. Najla did her Pediatric Residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital and obtained her M.D. degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She received her B.S. degree with high honors in Mathematical Sciences & Engineering from Johns Hopkins University School of Engineering.
Dr. Najla was born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Barbados, West Indies. She is married and a mother of four children. In her spare time she loves traveling and trying new recipes. She is well known for her vegetable lasagna and coconut pastry dishes.

Dannika J. Cross, M.D.
Dr. Cross joins the practice as the Lead Pediatrician at the
Belair Road office.
Dr. Cross completed her residency at Nationwide Children Hospital
in Columbus, Ohio. She obtained her Medical Doctor degree from
University of Maryland School of Medicine and her Bachelor of
Business Administration from Kent State University graduating summa
cum laude.
Dr. Cross has received numerous honors and awards including the
Dr. Morris Funk Scholarship at the University of Maryland, the Mary
Manchester Leadership Award, and the Melvyn Feinberg Outstanding
Senior Award at Kent State University. She has also participated
in research and quality improvements projects involving the use of
Electronic Medical Records. Dr. Cross was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is married and her
interest includes adolescent health and childhood obesity. Her hobbies
are reading, traveling, baking, and event planning.

Allan J. Monfried, M.D.
Dr. Allan Monfried serves as a part-time pediatrician in the practice. He brings over 30 years of pediatric experience to the practice.
Dr. Monfried serves as a pediatrician with Night Time Pediatrics where he treats children in the evening hours. He is also a fellow with the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the American Medical Association.
Dr. Monfried has served as Instructor of Pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and as Clinical Preceptor in the Physician Assistant Program at the Community College of Baltimore County –Towson University.
Dr. Monfried did a Pediatric Fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and his Pediatric Residency at Sinai Hospital. He obtained his M.D. degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and his B.A. degree from Duke University in History.
Dr. Monfried served as a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland and the proud grand father of two grand daughters. He says he loves Indulging “Not Spoiling” his grand-daughters. He is an avid pen collector and a huge fan of the Duke Blue Devils.

Ellie D. Cochran, CRNP, MSN
Ellie joins the practice as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Ms. Cochran obtained her Master of Science in Nursing from
University of Maryland her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from
the Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology
from Bucknell University.
Prior to Willoughby Beach Pediatrics, Ellie worked at
The Johns Hopkins Hospital as a Registered Nurse in the
Adolescent
med-surgical unit where she was a team leader and
mentored other nurses.
Ellie loves to travel and has been to Australia and Mt. Kilimanjaro
– “once in a lifetime spots”. She loves the Outer Banks and enjoys
running. She also love animals, enjoys baking sweets, and eating
steamed crabs.
